12:03:42 Questions for Ron- When's the Chinese translation of v2.2 planned for release?
12:04:55 Question to Ron. What are the plans to integrate DMM with CMMI?
12:05:43 What are the plans for certification SEC/SAF?
12:05:45 Question for Ron: Will the model explorer ever be translated in Chinese?
12:11:37 Organization, but maybe not the OU
12:11:38 Question for Ron: impact on next benchmarking regarding update of PLA, GOV, and DAR to incorporate EWG and COCO from the People-CMM
12:11:50 Questions for Ron: was there any accountability for CAS, either internal or external? Is the new $500 virtual appraisal fee being used to fix CAS?
12:11:59 SAM has moved from core to SPM. Can it still assessed as a part of DEV or is the other credential (SPM) required to appraise Sam?
12:16:47 Question for Ron: When are we going to get answers to our questions from Tuesday's session? Answers to some of these questions affect current work.
12:17:36 Question for Ron: What are the plans for integrating/aligning COBIT with CMMI?
12:19:22 Question for Ron. When will the FoC, DEV, etc. training material be updated?
12:27:02 What does a safety and security appraisal mean? an appraisal against the capability area, or an inclusion of say ESAF or ESEC in a DEV or SVC ML appraisal
12:29:15 We went from 0 to $900 just 4 years ago as an appraisal fee. Years of never having a fee.
12:32:31 A fee is fine, if there is a PROMISED Service Level Agreement, such as getting a response to a question or problem. I would like a SLA for time to response and a Tier system.
12:33:50 The CMMI Institute has made a gross assumption that the improvements noted in performance reports are due to CMMI adoption. This is simply not true.
12:34:46 There was one presentation for the conference that had in its title “CMMI V2.1”. How did this title pass the review? I don’t know, but I got it fixed with the help of Geoff
12:35:53 My concern is too many changes of various value and would like to digest the changes before the next batch. Also, it is a business and every additional requirement requires more time. I cannot increase my price.
12:37:37 I still remember what led up to DoD getting turned off by CMMI.
12:37:59 Do we get ISACA member #s? I want to take an ISACA class, every time I ask Zach or Chris, I get no answer....
12:38:52 Please give the ATMs an ID# so many duplicate names in CAS
12:47:58 It should be mandatory to have a picture in CAS for ATMs
12:48:28 An id # fixes that no?
12:48:34 We need a ticket submission system, like Jira. Where we get a ticket # and a severity level, just like I ask my clients to do.
12:48:39 I don’t find the photos that helpful, email visible would help more
12:49:27 A unique ATM id would be the best and most unambiguous
12:50:45 IF the ATM Field Experience description is required, it should be inputted by the ATM himself for once, otherwise we need to enter same info for same ATM in different appraisals again and again.
12:51:25 ATM email and organization need to be visible on CAS. That can provide enough identification.
12:51:55 That would really help!
12:52:05 Yes, the ATM experience should be verified by CMMI before entering them into CAS. This is really the best way.
12:52:35 Does anyone know what the current SLA is for appraisal review? Is it still 60 days?
12:54:16 35
12:54:44 That’s not an SLA that’s their current average
12:54:54 They still target 60 as the upper limit
12:55:28 Really? Wow I am at 42 days and still waiting.
12:56:01 They showed a chart at the workshop; it’s in the deck
12:56:14 Average from end date to appraisal in PARS in over 40 days
12:56:45 The data they showed isn't supported by what's in PARS.
12:57:32 In the chart they show the increasing time for review and also shows submissions
12:57:45 Look at the data posted in Facebook weekly which is a direct pull from PARS
12:57:47 The “green line showing 38 days right now
12:54:15 ISACA CMMI needs an official forum. Very easy to implement. They also need to do watercooler zooms
12:56:18 From Ron Lear : Agree - I’m working that too - an “official” ICACA CMMI Forum
13:01:18 The forum should greatly reduce multiple duplicate questions and allow you to spot hot topics and trends
13:03:53 Not every OU needs security. Every organization needs it, but when you scope an OU, the security aspects, just like hiring and finance, might be outside the OU
13:06:11 This is true, but that argument could be applicable to OT too
13:09:02 I don’t care, how many times they have had ATM training…. They are going to get trained by me or they aren’t on my team…..sigh
13:09:47 I agree. Part of ATM training is to talk about the specific appraisal and how the ATL expects to conduct the appraisal
13:10:39 Agreed. I also think there should be a requirement to use the same interpreter throughout the appraisal from planning to the of phase 3
13:14:21 If I must change translators, we all meet together and totally catch up on all the important issues.
13:06:02 The marketing departments help drive appraisals
13:14:43 I don't see [virtual in-person] in the glossary
13:17:07 How many times do you have to train team members on how to characterize practices? How many times do you have to train ATMs on how to do a preliminary findings presentation? There are things in the ATM training that you can train on once or twice, but don't need to train on each time. Customized training makes sense, but requiring the full team training each time doesn't.
13:18:06 I always customize my training
13:18:22 I never do the full training. I customize
13:18:25 Usually with more or less practice as the main customization
13:19:27 I always provide tailored ATM training to my team.
13:19:47 Me too
13:20:01 This is why having an accessible database of team membership experience is valuable. It helps in customizing team training.
13:20:33 I customize the training too. More on how to use the tools, what kind of notes/comments to note etc.
13:21:00 How about a statement that 100% virtual delivery will be allowed until future notice with the commitment that there would be 3 months’ notice before any actual deadline?
13:23:18 I thought the point of being 'certified' as able to do virtual appraisals/teach was FOREVER. YES, we do the Risk checklist, but I didn't think there was a drop-dead date on the Virtual Capabilities that we took training and paid for.
13:24:22 I don’t plan to get on a plane and go to China for years to come, so I will always have to figure out the set of rules that make virtual possible or not do it. No long flight with the virus the world has changed.
13:25:48 Business has changed. ZOOM is here to stay. There is no going back. Customers don't want to pay hotel and travel etc. for all of the Appraisal team.
13:26:24 Pat, there are quite a few questions for Ron in the chat. Would you ask him to address these, even afterwards?
13:31:56 Frankly speaking, I feel less pressure if I give bad results when I lead the appraisal virtually :)))
13:34:31 Especially for HM concepts
13:35:31 Yes it makes sense, we can figure out how to make sure they LEARN IT… DONT redesign, let us do it
13:35:48 Are really small classes (<3) really cost effective, with the 500 $ virtual fee
13:36:11 Can't make any $ with a small class.
13:36:15 That’s if the client will pay one day consulting and CMMI Institute fees and I could help them, I would, now I need 3
13:37:09 For me it’s not about MAKING money for that class, it’s about getting team members with the “formal” training they usually already know anyway
13:38:20 I am thinking mostly DEV or HM
13:38:43 For HM I don’t mind making some ATMs redo HM to get the three. I sort of LOVE to MAKE all my team do HM with me “again” every time anyway. That is my old style before HM concepts…. I always took one day to make sure they got HM down if they are on my team!
